Choosing our school

Choosing a first school for your child is one of the biggest decisions you ever make as a family.  The school has to be right for your child and right for you.

We encourage all prospective families to find out as much as possible about Moorland Waldorf before making the decision to become part of our community.  There’s a lot of information here on the website and in our downloadable prospectus.  We welcome visits by arrangement at any time (current coronavirus restrictions mean that families must have an appointment), simply call us on 01287 661206 or email info@moorlandwaldorf.org. Following any visit staff are always available to talk things through further.

Children may join at any time in the school year.

We are happy to discuss support for families who home school their children and who may be looking for some school sessions.  Please contact us if this would be of interest to you. We cannot guarantee that we can accommodate your needs but will be happy to discuss the possibility with parents.

Getting to know your child

Before we accept your child into Kindergarten or the Main School, we like to get to know a bit more about them to be sure that we can support them, and you, in the best possible way we can.

For Kindergarten this is done through an informal meeting with your child’s prospective teacher. It will last about an hour and is a chance for you to share with us a picture of your child and ask us questions. It is our opportunity to share with you our ethos.

Before we accept a child into the Main School, we like to be sure that we consider what’s best both for the individual child and the class they will join.  We do this in a meeting with you, your child and one or two members of staff.
